- Must the Bride and Groom sail on the cruise to get married on the ship?
For shipboard weddings, the bride and groom must sail on the cruise. - Can you arrange the cruise for our wedding guests too?
We'd be happy to arrange your cruise for you and your guests together with booking your wedding. You should contact us at Royal Ocean Events before booking your wedding to ensure the date wanted is available. If you are being married onboard on the day of embarkation, we can give you some vital information for a smooth day. - Can we be married at why the ship is at sea?
Couples cannot be married at sea. - Can the Captain of the ship marry us?
Captains cannot legally perform wedding ceremonies. - We would like a religious ceremony
All weddings are civil services, however upon request; a religious ceremony can be performed in St. Thomas only. - We would like a Catholic wedding service
Because of doctrine, Roman Catholic wedding services can not be performed. - Can we bring our own minister?
You may wish to contact your minister to arrange a blessing on return after your wedding. - Can we bring our own marriage officiant?
Couples may provide their own marriage officiant if they prefer. - Where do we obtain our marriage license
Couples must obtain their marriage license from the appropriate government office in the port where they are to be married. - I'm not sure how to get the marriage license?
Royal Ocean Events will consult with bridal couples on how to obtain a marriage license, but it is the sole responsibility of the couple to apply and pay cash for (in the currency of the country of marriage) the license in the port where they are to be married. In Florida and St. Thomas we can obtain licenses for couples for a fee of $100.00. - Can we have guests at our wedding that have not sailed on the cruise ship?
Couples are permitted to have sailing or non – sailing guests attend their wedding. - How do we get our guests on the ship?
Couples must supply Royal Ocean Events with a list of full names of all guests, no later than 30 days before the wedding date. No changes are permitted after that time. Note: Some ports require the entire guest list to include birth dates. - What do our guests need to bring?
All guests must present picture ID to security to board the ship. - May our guests bring presents to the wedding?
Due to customs regulations, no wedding gifts can be brought onboard the ship. - What should I put on my invitations?
Upon booking a wedding with a reception, Royal Ocean Events will provide information that should be included with wedding invitations. - Should we pay tips to the staff?
A 15% Gratuity will be added to the invoice total.
